In late October 2019 this Spec Boxster was thoroughly gone through (at significant expense) by John Gladwill at Porsche Plano.  A new (used) motor was installed and several other services were performed and parts installed to John’s specifications.  The new motor feels stronger than the prior motor which dyno’d at respectable 190 whp.  If you are seriously interested in buying this car, I will be happy to meet you with the car at DriverSource in Houston to have it dyno’d.

A new motor was needed because a sleeve in the block of the original motor had slipped causing coolant to escape. Additional services performed with that service included installing new rear GT3 lower control arms; semi-solid engine mounts and other parts/services to improve the competitiveness of the car.  In a subsequent service John installed new wheel bearings all around and new wheel studs and set the car up for racing.  This car is race ready.  Throw on some Toyo RR tires and you are good to go.

This car, driven by yours truly, qualified well at TWS and COTA when I raced it way back in 2015/2016.  Since then, it saw only a handful of DEs while I played with my other toys.

Since the new motor was installed, I have taken the car to PCA DEs at ECR and COTA.  Needless to say, the car felt more powerful and handled much better than before.
