This 1960 Plymouth Fury two-door hardtop is finished in Jet Black over a red interior and was sold new by the Wright Motor Corp. in Roanoke, Virginia. The current owner acquired the car in 2009 following an extended period of storage. Subsequent recommissioning is said to have included rebuilds of the carburetor and starter, a transmission service, updates to the fuel system, fluid changes, and more. Power is provided by a 361ci Golden Commando V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. This Fury is now offered on dealer consignment with a Chrysler production record, literature, memorabilia, service records, and a clean North Carolina title.
By 1960, the Fury replaced the Belvedere as Plymouth’s top-of-the-line model, with a four-door sedan and four-door hardtop joining the previous two-door hardtop and convertible models on a new-for-1960 unibody platform. The body on this example is finished in Jet Black, and sheet metal repair on the trunk floor and passenger door were performed by the current owner. Paint touchups are also noted...
