2011 Ferrari 458 ChallengePosted by WindingRoad about 6 months ago
This 2011 Ferrari 458 Challenge is a factory-built race car that was reportedly used by Ferrari North America as a demonstrator for Challenge sponsor Motorola during the 2011-13 seasons. Power is from a 4.5-liter F136 V8 mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox with an electronic differential. The car is finished in red with Challenge livery and features an air jack system, tow hooks, a roll cage, Evo-spec carbon fiber racing seats, a Coolshirt package, a fire suppression system, and more. This 458 Challenge was acquired by the selling dealer in 2013 and was subsequently sold to its first owner who reportedly kept it until late 2017 when it was traded in for a new 488 Challenge. It currently shows 16k kilometers (~10k miles) and is offered with service records, spare wheels and tires, and a clean Washington State title.
The car is finished in Rosso Corsa with Challenge #5 launch livery and a Ferrari of Seattle windshield banner. The 458 Challenge featured reduced-thickness aluminum bodywork and carbon fiber panels along with an air jack system and dual tow hooks. This example is complete with the factory Lexan windows, though a window net has since replaced the left panel. The front bumper grille was replaced in 2015.
Black 19″ BBS centerlock wheels wear Pirelli P Zero slicks fitted in 2018 and sized 255/650 up front and 305/690 at the rear. A spare wheel and tire set is included in the sale. The 458 Challenge came factory-equipped with solid aluminum bushings, stiffer springs, single-rate dampers, and a ride height lowered by 30mm all round. Braking is handled by Brembo calipers rotors paired with Girodisc rotors.
