1982 Porsche 911SC Street/Track CarPosted by WindingRoad about 1 year ago
This 1982 Porsche 911SC is a modified example featuring steel fender flares, fiberglass engine and trunk lids, a welded roll cage, and Martini-style livery. Power is from a rebuilt 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a 915 5-speed manual transaxle and equipped with a rebuilt distributor, PMO downdraft carburetors, MSD 6A ignition, an SSI muffler with equal-length headers, and more. Further modifications include Lindsey Racing 3-piece wheels, RSR-style front and coilover rear suspension, Tarett Engineering sway bars, GT Classic seats with 6-point harnesses, a Firefox fire suppression system, and an ATL fuel cell. This street/track 911 was purchased by the seller in 2010 and is now offered with spares, a binder of service records, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The car features steel fender flares, fiberglass engine and trunk lids, and a repaint in silver under Martini-style livery. The seller is including an IROC-style whale tail rear lid with matching stripes. A chip is noted on the front hood, as are scratches on the windshield. Fuchs-style 3-piece wheels from Lindsey Racing wear Toyo Proxes R888 tires sized 245/40 up front and 315/35 in the rear.
The suspension was overhauled with RSR-style front shocks with coil springs, rear coilovers with Eibach springs, poly bronze bushings and adjustable rear spring plates from Elephant Racing, front drop spindles with bump steer correction, offset-camber ball joints, adjustable front and rear Tarett Engineering sway bars, and front and rear strut tower braces. Braking is from red 4-piston calipers with cross-drilled rotors and stainless lines.
The cabin features a 6-point welded roll cage over custom GT Classic seats trimmed in black leather with Alcantara inserts, tri-color stitching, brass grommets, adjustable headrests, and Schroth harnesses. RS-style black Perlon carpets and stainless steel door sills are also equipped along with a 3-spoke MOMO Mod 69 steering wheel and Vortex pedals.
The black dashboard features a 160-mph speedometer, tachometer, and 6-digit odometer showing 223k miles, 4k of which were added by the seller. A Firefox fire suppression system includes nozzles for the engine, fuel cell, and driver, though the seller notes that the system’s tanks need to be recharged.
The 3.0-liter flat-six was reportedly rebuilt prior to the seller’s purchase with new cylinders, pistons, and bearings. Modifications performed under current ownership are said to include:
Rebuilt and recurved distributor
Conversion from CIS fuel injection to PMO downdraft carburetors
MSD 6A ignition with 5,500 rpm limiter
New SSI muffler with equal-length headers
RSR-style heater block-off plates
New valve cover gaskets
Upgraded timing chain tensioners
New oil cooler with stainless steel braided lines
ATL fuel cell
The 915 5-speed manual transaxle is said to have been refreshed at 220k miles with new synchros. A Wevo shifter, new shift joints, and fresh fluids were reportedly added during the seller’s ownership. The car reportedly received oil changes after track days and comes with a spare MSD rev limiter chip.Contact Seller »
