1964 Autodynamics Mk 3 Formula VeePosted by WindingRoad about 1 week, 5 days ago
This 1964 Autodynamics Mk 3 Formula Vee racer is powered by an air-cooled 1,200cc flat-four paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle. The car is reported to have spent much of its life in California running Cal Club events prior to its acquisition by the seller 11 years ago. It has since competed in VARA events at Buttonwillow, Willow Springs, and California Speedway, reportedly with wins at the latter two tracks. A spare lower body panel and set of wheels are included in the sale, though no logbooks are available. This Formula Vee and its custom open trailer are offered at no reserve on separate bills of sale.
The car features yellow fiberglass bodywork contrasted by blue number decals, drum brakes, suspension components, and mirrors. Cracks and other blemishes are visible near the cockpit opening and forward torsion bar assembly.
White-painted 15″ steel wheels are currently fitted, and a second set of silver-finished steel wheels is included in the sale along with a spare lower body panel.
The interior features a single fixed seat, a quick-release steering wheel, and a side-mounted shifter. The carbon fiber dash panel houses an oil pressure gauge, tachometer, and fire suppression handle. The seller notes that the Sparco harnesses are out of date and will need to be replaced before the car is raced.
The car is powered by a 1,200cc Volkswagen flat-four equipped with a single carburetor and paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle. The engine is said to retain a first-generation fan, shroud, and gutted generator, while the swing-axle rear suspension features adjustable coilover shock assemblies.
A custom open trailer with a fairing and integrated ramps is included and carries California Permanent Trailer Identification license plates.Contact Seller »
