2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Rally CarPosted by WindingRoad about 2 months, 1 week ago
This 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi was purchased by the seller and his father three years ago from Lachute Performance Racing in Quebec, where it had previously been used as a performance street racing vehicle. After transport to California, it was modified for Rallycross racing with new paint, front and rear body kits, a rear wing, a new JRZ adjustable shock and spring package, auxiliary lights, and more. The 2.5L AK2 flat-four was reportedly rebuilt by the previous owner less than 5k miles ago with forged pistons and connecting rods, a Garrett GT28RS turbocharger, and additional performance components. Power is sent to all four wheels through a freshly rebuilt 6-speed manual gearbox with a DCCD controller, and the front differential was also just overhauled. This STi is is not registered for road use. It is offered with three sets of wheels and tires as well as a clean California title.
New white exterior paint and a removable vinyl decal package were applied shortly after the sellers’ purchase. The body features a Prodrive WRC front body kit, Accolade WRC rear body kit, and the prominent rear wing depicted above. The sellers just mounted four new 6” HID Baja Designs Pre Runner lights to the front light bar, which have yet to be used in an event.
A recent suspension revamp included JRZ RS rally-spec 2-way adjustable shocks along with adjustable front and rear sway bars, end links, control arms, and an anti-lift kit from Whiteline Performance. New brake calipers and discs were installed all around. The Method off-road wheels pictured above are fitted with Michelin rallycross tires with one event on them, and a second identical set is included in the sale. A third set of XXR split-spoke wheels with Michelin Sport Cup tires also accompany the car and are pictured in the gallery.
The owners have recently added safety features including a 1.75″ tubular painted roll cage, new Sparco seats valid through 2019, Schroth harnesses, an electronic fire bottle, an electric master shut-off switch, driver radio pre-wiring, and a Racekeeper Black 2 camera system with an ECU patch to capture driving data.
An Alcantara MOMO steering wheel is currently equipped, while the OEM carpeting and unnecessary factory trim has been removed. The digital odometer shows 83k miles.
The 2.5-liter AK2 flat-four was reportedly rebuilt by Lachute Performance less than 5k miles ago and features an 8.2:1 compression ratio. Major components added by Lachute during the rebuild are listed below:
